Asleep on my Feet

Last night was the last night of Italian Cabaret was for this season. I am practically asleep on my feet, after that performance, church this morning, and ALL THOSE REHEARSALS last week. And this afternoon is one more performance - the Saint Augustine Singers under the direction of KVB. There are about 30 of us in the group. I have a neat little solo in a South American lullaby called Duerme Negrito.

What will tire me out today is all the standing and the need for strong focus and attention.

Next Sunday is the Mozart Requiem, with rehearsals Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, plus my regular teaching schedule.

YES!!!! I love to sing!!!!!! And I don't mean to whine, but I sure wish things could be spaced out a little! I think I will try to sneak in a little nap, now.

Dear luciluna. I hope you're getting lots of rest, as I'm guessing things are over for the moment. I wish you good sleep!

Well, I've been waiting for fresh blog from ya, Luciluna!! I miss hearing about your kitties.

Sorry to miss so much St. Augie music in past weeks. Things are ramped up here right now. As is so often the the case, I guess.

Love you! How's the NC "cabin"?

5th Anniversary of the Stroke

Nearly 5 years ago, I suffered a stroke that left me with numbness and lack of coordination of my right hand and arm. For awhile, I could not speak normally, and I couldn't say my husband's name. With time and occupational and massage therapy, sensation began to return. My speech cleared up within the month. I relearned how to brush my teeth and hair, how to butter toast, how to handle a fork. I used a speech program on the computer for several months, because my right hand could not type. I am very grateful for the lessons I learned from this experience. After 5 years, a person is considered to be at no increased risk of having another CVA (cerebrovascular accident). That's my upcoming milestone!
